The early 1980s saw an explosion of many colourful styles. One of the most popular skirt styles at this time was the short frilled ‘ra-ra’ skirt. With the introduction of dance film ‘Fame’, the practise for wearing leg warmers around the ankles became an everyday fashion for many young girls.
This young lady is cast by me, from fine quality bisque porcelain and has curly blonde hair, tied with a pink silk scarf.
Her pink and black patterned short ‘ra-ra’ skirt is topped with a bright cerise silk ‘boob tube’ and a casual ¾ sleeved denim jacket with ‘Smiley’ badge. Tucked under one arm is a matching cerise silk clutch bag with gold metal heart shaped ‘clasp’. She wears pink leg warmers around her ankles and on her feet are painted white high heeled shoes. Underneath, this lovely lady wears simple cotton knickers.
This doll is approx five and a half inches tall.
This doll has a porcelain head, torso, lower arms, and thigh length legs with a wired, soft and partially pose-able body. This doll is an ornament intended for adult collectors and should not be given to children to play with.
