World War 1/Titanic/Downton Abbey Lady in Opulent Evening Wear.

 From about 1910, ladies fashions began to change from the long sweeping lines of the early Edwardian era to a much simpler and elegant style. Straighter skirts and looser, less restrictive bodices echoed the Empire lines at the turn of the previous century and hemlines gradually began to rise.

 This lovely lady stands approx. five and a half inches tall and is made from fine quality bisque porcelain. She has a porcelain torso to the waist, lower legs to the knee and porcelain arms to just below the shoulder. The rest of her body is soft with wiring to make her quite poseable.

She wears a pure silk short sleeved evening gown in a gorgeous deep rose pink, edged with fine black cotton lace. Over this is a gossamer-fine black silk tulle over-dress tied with a black bead-trimmed hanging belt. She wears above-elbow white painted evening gloves and a faux pearl and pink crystal choker. This pretty lady’s dark brunette hair is dressed softly with strings of faux pearls and pretty filigree and feather decorations.

Underneath she wears white cotton lace-trimmed drawers and matching slim-line petticoat. Her black painted evening shoes are embellished with black lace, tiny filigrees and crystals and she wears black silk tulle stockings (with seams at the back!).

This doll would make a wonderful Christmas or birthday present for somebody special or why not treat yourself.
