Overall condition is acceptable. First, why "19??" for a publication year? The novel is originally copyright 1951 and was first published in 1951. However, this copy has a ISBN number . This means it had to have had a publishing year no earlier than 1970. In addition, the original novel, on the title page, lists June 1, 1971 as the date in the subtitle. In this printing, the date is June 1, 1988. Now, assuming the 20 years (1951 to 1971), deduct 20 from 1988 and you get 1968. This is closer to the publication date but in the book, there is a 0- appended to the number which means it can only have been released in or after 1970. The SBN number system which was in use starting in 1966 used 9 digits. To convert them once the 10-digit ISBN system was standardized, the 0- was added to the beginning of the original SBN number to make it have 10 digits. This is a long winded way to say I have no idea the year this printing was made save it was in or after 1970.

The dust jacket has obvious wear, some sun/light fading, edge chippings (mainly in corners), some minor tears (again, mostly in the corners), a tear at the bottom of the rear flap (repaired with tape), some soiling, a missing corner on the inside front flap, and a few areas of insect nibbling. The book itself is in decent shape with minor corner wear. There is some foxing on the interior and exterior pages but only a little discoloration on the pages due to better paper quality.
