Todmorden Market 1971, Hebden Bridge Bus at Station, Large Photo
Description: This is a large 11"" inch x 8"" inch photo of a period street scene at Todmorden Market and bus station in 1971. It is 3.30pm and the fruit & veg stall is in full swing, with a Todmorden Joint Omnibus lowbridged 1950 Leyland Titan PD2/12 setting off for Hebden Bridge a few miles down the valley.
The bus is fleet number 355, registration number KWX 17. Two Leyland Tiger Cubs are parked up next to the bus station office.
The train signals for the approach to nearby Todmorden Railway Station are in view at the top of the embankment and on the top deck front seat is a small boy peering down intently at the scene below.
