Antique Cabinet Lock Victorian Solid Brass 1 Lever 1 Working Unusual Hexagon Key

Here I have for sale a very nice hard to find vintage Victorian era solid brass and 1 lever warded cabinet lock. 

This rare and hard to find lock is from my personal vintage lock collection and is complete with 1 fabulous unusual hexagon style working key (which has some wobble) but still works the lock well with a nice firm clicking spring action when the lock bolt moves from side to side.

This is an early 2 way cabinet lock suitable for both right handed and left handed cabinet/cupboard doors.

This lock dates from the 1870's era and is in great used condition for its vintage age, It is solid cast brass (probably derived from an earlier Georgian design) and it looks absolutely fantastic !

This great lock is a collector's item due to its vintage age and rarity. It is a 1 lever very well made solid brass warded cabinet lock which has been well engineered during the later half of the 19th century ! 

This lock may have only 1 lever but it also has some warding inside it where the bottom of the key flag must have a corresponding slot cut out in order for it to get past the internal warding that is inside this lock and for it to be able to turn inside this lock to lift the 1 lever and move the dead bolt back and fourth, if the key does not have this same corresponding warding slot cut out in its flag - Then the key will not fit into the lock or turn ! - so this is quite secure cabinet lock for it's time !

The measurements of this lock are below:-

Height of lock back plate is 62.5 mm.

Width of lock back plate is 31.5 mm. 

The distance between the left edge of this lock to the center of where the key hole pin is, is 16.5 mm.

The distance between the right edge of this lock to the center of where the key hole pin is, is 15 mm.

The measurements of the lock case part that protrudes is 31.5 mm wide by 38 mm high. 

The depth of this lock is 8.8 mm.

The total length of the key is 57 mm.
