Seller's Description
This heavy-duty cup and saucer set is perfect for coffee as well as tea! I really like the textured pattern of the cup. I took a close-up of it to show you how the dark brown textured portion of the cup. The dark brown line above the texture is also embossed. There is a speckled effect to lighter brown shade. Heavy, this cup and saucer set (unboxed) weighs 1 lb. 1 oz. on my kitchen scale. In comparison, most of the teacup and saucer sets I list, boxed and ready to ship, weigh 15 or 16 ounces.
Color: Earthtone browns with cream cup center.
Research Information: Crafted in England. This researched description is borrowed from Chinasearch: "Denby Langley Pottery - In 1959 Joseph Bourne & Son (Denby Pottery) bought nearby pottery, Langley Mill. Originally Denby and Langley were operated as two completely separate companies though gradually a new direction was imposed on Langley Mill. Designers including Albert Colledge, Glyn Colledge, and Gill Pemberton introduced many new contemporary stoneware ranges and by 1976 the two potteries became united as Denby Tableware Ltd." Note: The cup and saucer are both stamped with "Denby" only, as pictured.
