Seller's Description
168 pages in a large 12 1/4 X 9 1/2 inch binding, printed in German language. The cover shows the German Imperial Crest and imprinted in gold leaf, with the phrase "Von der Wiege biszum Grab." The cover shows spotting and soiling, but still presentable. Cover is also mostly detached from the signatures, though perhaps a restorer can repair this.

The front endpaper shows a large tear, but as far as I can see, none of the text or photo pages are torn.
This book details the family and military history of Otto Von Bismarck (born April 1, 1815), long considered to be the founder of the German Empire. He initiated administrative reforms, developed a common currency, a central bank, and a single code of commercial and civil law for Germany. The photographs in this edition (one shown) are historical and of the highest quality. Additional scans of images (ask for the full sized Kaiser Wilhelm) are available on request.
