Seller's Description
1925 was the year Columbia switched from the old method of acoustically recorded pressings to the new electric recording process licensed from Western Electric. This company has a long history, dating back to 1888, and was one of the "Big Three" in recording companies, competing with Edison and Victor. They remain the oldest continually used brand name in recorded sound, now owned by Sony Music since 1988.
Offered here is one of the new "electrical process" Viva-tonal recordings from 1928. In clean and glossy condition but a hairline crack is starting to show and must be handled gently. So far, NO skips are caused though it may sound lightly as the needle passes over. No other damage.
Side 147693 presents "Wear A Hat With A Silver Lining", and side 147696, I Got A Woman, Crazy For Me: "She's Funny That Way". Both fox trots are performed by Ted Lewis and his Band and feature incidental singing by Ted.
