Seller's Description

Paisley 1979, Graham's Bus on Gauze Street, Large Photo

Description: This is a Large 12" inch x 8" inch photo of a Graham's Bus Service LTD bus taking on passengers at the bus stop outside the old Royal Bank of Scotland main branch on Gauze Street in Paisley in 1969. The bus is 1978 Leyland Atlantean,Registration YDS650S, Fleet number L10, Destination 'Govan Cross via Penilee'.

It just shows you how busy it was back then, with shoppers en mass, especiall in the distance towards High Street where the Prudential building can be seen with Grants store, 'Scotland's National Furnishers' occupying the ground floor at that time. A 1972 Ford Cortina can be seen coming in to picture, just about to overtake the bus.

The bus stop is still there today but the street has been partially pedestrianised, the Bank of Scotland building has been demolished and the obligatory industrialized glass building takes it's place as the entrance to the Piazza shopping center. It is good to see that the old classic buildings in the background still stand today.

An interesting photo of Paisley High Street back in the day.

This Photograph will look Beautiful in a frame and would make the Perfect Gift
