Old Steel Cupboard Lock 1 Lever Victorian 2 working Keys Perfect Working Order

Here I have for sale one fabulous hard to find rare vintage late Victorian period steel and brass 1 lever WARDED cabinet / cupboard lock.

This lock is complete with  2 working keys which both work the lock perfectly with a very nice SOLID and FIRM spring action. 

it is of a grey steel and brass construction (the lock bolt and the internal warding are brass metal and the rest of the lock is mild grey steel.)

THIS LOCK HAS THE EXTRA SECURE INTERNAL WARDING plus 1 lever which makes it still a fairly secure lock for it's time and it still works PERFECTLY !   

"Warding" means that a lock has some extra metal (brass) protruding inside of the lock from the lock case, this is of a certain profile and in order for the key to fit inside the lock or turn, it must have the same sort of corresponding profile cut out at the bottom (and top) of the key flag, if the key does not have the same corresponding profile cut out at the bottom (and top) of the key flag, then it simply will not fit inside the lock or turn.  

THIS IS A  TWO WAY LOCK SO CAN BE USED ON BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT HANDED CUPBOARD OR CABINET DOORS NO PROBLEM.

This lock is from my own personal vintage lock collection, It has no makers name present and it dates from the 1880's / 1890's late Victorian era. 

The lock is in great, well used condition and it looks absolutely fantastic for its antique age ! 

This lock was hand made way back in the 1880's to 1890's ! and does have some minor age related marks from many years of use. Other than this it is all good.   

This great lock is now a collector's item due to its age and rarity. 

If you have a Victorian pine cupboard with a missing or broken lock... then this lock could well be what you've been looking for !

The measurements of this lock are below:-

Height of lock back plate is 89 mm.

Width of lock back plate is 58 mm. 

The distance between the left edge of this lock to the center of where the key hole pin is, is 29 mm.

The distance between the right edge of this lock to the center of where the key hole pin is, is 29 mm.

The measurements of the lock case part that protrudes is 51 mm wide by 60 mm high (from it longest point) and by 12 mm it protrudes.

The total depth of this lock is approx 13.5 mm.

The total length of the keys are approx 88 mm.

When the key is inserted into the lock fully, The measurement from the back face of this lock to where the key bow starts is 60 mm, so this lock can be used on doors up to 60 mm thick (maybe slightly less if you're using an external keyhole escutcheon which must be allowed for).

I have described this item to the best of my knowledge and this lock is in good working order and in fantastic used condition.​
