Description: This is a Large 11"" inch x 8"" inch photo of a period street scene on King Edward Street, Hull, in 1969 at the junction of Savile Street. A East Yorkshire 1956 Willowbrook bodied AEC Regent V bus, fleet number 639, registration plate VKH39, route 17 and destination board 'Little Weighton' passes Alexandre mens wear store, followed by a Vauxhall Cresta and a red 1969 Austin 1100.
The bus has the unusually shaped 'Beverley Bar' roof, and this area, although a dualled road heavy in traffic in 1969 is now heavily pedestrianised, with no traffic in sight.
An interesting everyday scene in Hull city centre in the 1960s.
