⚡ Alpha: Big Time #1 – “I Used to Be Big Time”

Andy Maguire, formerly known as Alpha, is trying to restart his life after losing his powers. Once hailed as a teen superhero with immense potential (introduced during Dan Slott’s Amazing Spider-Man run), Andy’s recklessness led to his powers being stripped away by Peter Parker.

Now living a quiet life in Pittsburgh and attending high school, Andy is trying to keep a low profile. But everything changes when he unexpectedly gets his powers back — this time, supposedly under control. Spider-Man (at this point actually Superior Spider-Man, with Doctor Octopus in Peter’s body) decides to give Andy a second chance and sends him back into the field, under strict watch.

The issue explores themes of responsibility, maturity, and second chances, with Alpha struggling between being the hero he wants to be and the cocky kid he used to be. It sets up his journey to prove he’s ready to handle the power he once abused.

NM / Near Mint – virtually perfect

VF / Very Fine – light wear only

FN / Fine – general wear, still clean and complete

VG / Very Good – moderate wear, minor defects

G / Good – heavy wear or age, complete unless noted
