VINTAGE GOLD & PLATINUM? HUNTING CRAVAT PIN RIDING CROP SHAPE 5cm-LONG 1g (P2)

Selling on behalf of my mother. Great *RARE* cravat pin for hunting attire from the 1940s or 1950s which belonged to a family member back then who went on fox hunts as my family were farmers. The cravat pin  is in the shape of a riding crop and has one tiny pearl. No hallmark as item not wide enough to put a hallmark on it (it literally is the width of a pin!) plus jewellers in the UK did not have to put a hallmark on items until after 1975. 

My mother is pretty sure it is 18ct as she said "it is a richer gold than 9ct (9ct is paler) and back then they made quality jewellery with 18ct rather than 9ct". My research shows it is unlikely 15ct as 15ct ceased in the UK in 1932. The silver coloured bands on the pin could possibly be platinum (see my NOTE for further info below). Comes in W C Mann original box (well respected watchmakers and jeweller in Gloucester back in the old days for making items of quality and value) and has stayed in the box for decades hence amazing condition. 

W C Mann was a watchmaker and jeweller in Gloucester, with a history dating back to 1741. The business, originally started by James Jew, was taken over by William Mann in 1835. The Mann family continued the business, eventually establishing Mann Jewellers, which remains a family-run business today. While the original location was in Gloucester, the business has also operated in Stroud.

Measures 5cm long. Weighs 1.07 grams.

NOTE: THIS IS THE ONLY CRAVAT PIN FOR SALE ON WITH THIS DESIGN AND PEARL. THERE IS A PIN WITH ALMOST THE SAME DESIGN BUT THAT ONE DOES NOT HAVE A PEARL. IT IS FOR SALE ON USA ADVERTISED AS GOLD & PLATINUM. THE SILVER COLOURED BITS ON THAT ONE PRESUMABLY IS PLATINUM. MY PIN HAS EXTACT SAME SILVER COLOURED BITS ON THE PIN SO COULD BE PLATINUM.  THAT IS ON SALE IN USA FOR £880. UNFORTUNATELY, USA SELLER WHO IS AN ESTABLISHED JEWELLERY SELLER ON DOES NOT GIVE ANY EXTRA INFORMATION ON THEIRS.
