Seebohm and Dieckstahl Turnscrew/Screwdriver

A fine old turnscrew/screwdriver manufactured by Seebohm and Dieckstahl of Sheffield England.

I cannot ascertain, fully, the date for when this was made but it's certainly Pre World War 1, as the company had a name change to avoid the adverse effects to business from anti german feelings in Britain.

Seebohm and Dieckstahl was established in 1865 with manufacturing works in Sheffield and offices in London. ( I believe that this company had considered opening a facillity in the U.S.A. but this does not appear to have eventually happened).

•1865 Company established by Henry Seebohm
•1899 Incorporated as a limited company.
•1911 Mr Arthur Balfour, MD, was the Master Cutler at this time. The Eagle and Globe Steel company was allied to the parent company. 
 
1914 Became Arthur Balfour and Co as anti-German feelings increased in WWI.

The overall length is approximatly 21 inches (535mm approx),

 The handle shown is not the original and was applied to protect users from the pointed tang. This has had a benficial effect of preventing the oils from wooden handles eroding the makers marks.

The steel shaft is in quite good condition with some pitting
