The writer of this true story is T.E.Crack born in Vancouver,British Columbia Canada.Iwill tell of the things I have seen here and there,and my various experiences in different places.My family moved to the Peace River country in the winter of 1919/20.My dad took up a homestead about six miles west of the present town of Dawson Creek and this was our home for many years.

In the spring of 1937 my uncle  who was a great traveller arrived at our home from a trip to New Zealand and told us what a wonderful country it was and also that there was lots of work down there.It gave me the idea to go down and see what it was like,so I left the farm and started looking for work to raise some money........................

These are my memoirs from the time I left canada until I returned.I left canada and went to New Zealand in 1937 and returned in 1945.While in New Zealand the war broke out and I joined the New Zealand army and went Egypt and was eventually captured at el Alemein in Egypt.After spending fourteen months in different prision camps in Italy I eventually escaped and joined the Italian underground and worked with them for nearly nineteen months.

This will give you an idea of life in the New Zealand army in the Middle East and life in the prision camps and how I lived and worked with the underground people behind the German lines.
