• Comments: Machinations lies in the picturesque Welsh village of Llanbrynmair on the route between Newtown and Machynlleth. If you have ever been curious what this strange building was all about it is worth a stop.  Machinations is the only “permanent exhibition of contemporary Automata” in the UK. But it also has a great Cafe and Shop, a Play Barn, and a Rabbit Village. The leaflet is bilingual – English and Welsh. At the time of writing (14/12/2020) their web site still works but is very limited. Instead, there is a notice to say that they are under new management, but the cafe: JoJo’s Café is still open at Wynnstay Stores.
