Early Victorian Sterling Silver Exeter Assay Tongs (60grams)

Large early Victorian sterling silver tongs.

Fully Hallmarked with Victoria's bust head, Exeter, lion passant(sterling) and date letter I circa. 1845.

Makers mark J.S for John Stone of New Bridge Street Exeter.

Measure approximately 16 cm in length and weigh a heavy 60 grams.

A fabulous example of Victorian sterling silver these sturdy tongs would be used for services of meats etc and are in great condition. Great for collectors or enthusiasts alike and would make a fabulous gift or why not spoil yourself with delightful early Victorian silver tongs.
