Excellent source book for Hollywood buffs by a true insider. An interesting read that takes you back in time to the bygone era of show business with stories as far back as the 40s. Great antidotes such as the time a young comic Milton Berle (in his 20's) playing a room in Vegas for the first time when he insults a mobster known for sticking his fork into the faces of those who anger him. The mobster calls an the unaware comic over to his table after the show and just as he reaches for his fork someone grabs his hand. Written in 1971, author Earl Wilson, known for expounding on both scandalous and heartwarming stories of Hollywood in front of and behind the cameras, shares intimate glimpses into the lives of the stars of celluloid. This book written stylistically as one might expect coming from a newspaper columnist of a forgotten era is a must for any film industry buff.
