Book needs rebinding: stored in box in garage for years, boards in poor condition, 1-1/2'' of spine missing 3'' up from bottom, stained & warped, end papers discolored. Content in surprisingly excellent condition, binding tight, some water marks on bottom edge of 20-30 pages, also some warping, however all pages are separate, and in vg condition. A complete account of horses and mules in World War I. 51 illustrated from drawings by Captain Lionel Edwards and from black and white photographs. Includes a reproduction of a note from Field-Marshal Sir Douglas Haig, Commander-in-Chief of the British Forces in France regarding the value of military animals.
