Oregon Sunstone Labradorite Concave Faceted Trilliant: Icy Near White; 1.67 cts

Although it looks slightly yellow in the photos, this piece is as near colorless as Oregon Sunstone comes. Yellow is the most usual color in Oregon Sunstone, followed by pale pinkish-orange, with colorless is much more uncommon. This piece has a tiny bit of greenish undertone, depending on the light source. The slightly concave pavilion facets add a bit of extra sparkle, and this would make a bright ring stone, pendant, etc. Would look best in a silver, white gold or platinum setting to show off its icy sparkle. The copper-bearing, transparent variety of labradorite is only found in the remote deserts of Oregon, and is that state's official gemstone. A beautiful piece with huge sparkle that will add flash to your collection or custom jewel design.

The photos were taken under natural light. The gem is brighter and more sparkly in-hand, and what may appear to be windowing merely the result of the angle at which I was forced to shoot (in order to avoid making the gem look too dark). The yellowish color is likely due to the sunlight reflecting off nearby walls. In some photos, colors may be picked up from the holder or other items in the background. The holder is not included. Item comes in the acrylic gem case as shown.
