Original 10 inch x 8 inch Black and White Portrait of LEW AYRES in a photo test for the role of a Navajo Indian in the 1934 W.S. Van Dyke Drama LAUGHING BOY.
“HOW do you like Lew Ayres as a Navajo Indian? This is how the “All Quiet” star appeared while being tested for the leading role in “LAUGHING BOY”. He was greatly in demand, however for “Penalty of Fame” and other pictures. Still he looks good. Meanwhile Theodore Hecht, a young N.Y. stage player was selected for “The Laughing Boy”.”
The portrait, on doubleweight paper, is in very good condition with minor surface marks and a 1/4 inch tear in the top border.
