Original French 23 1/2 inch x 31 3/4 inch Poster for the 1934 Georges Marret Drama JEANNE, written by Henri Duvernois and starring Gaby Morlay, André Luguet, Hélène Perdrière, Robert Vattier and Sinoël.
Gaby Morlay (1897-1964) was a radiant star of French silents and talkies. Enormously popular, especially among female audiences, for her touching performances in melodramas. Her career suffered a setback after the liberation of France because of her marriage to a minister in the Vichy cabinet. She soon resumed acting, but in lesser films and in diminishing roles.
The poster is in very good folded condition with a tiny piece out at bottom centre with adjacent creasing.
