Original Polish 22 inch x 33 inch Poster for the 1963 Jan Kadar & Elmar Klos Czech Drama BECAUSE WE DON’T FORGET (DEATH IS CALLED ENGELCHEN) (SMRT SI RIKA ENGELCHEN), based on the novel by Ladislav Mnacko and starring Jan Kacer, Eva Polakova, Martin Ruzek, Blazena Holisova and Otto Lackovic.
The film is about a partisan movement in Moravia at end of World War II.
Poster art by Maciej Hibner. Hibner was born in Warsaw in 1931. He was a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw with a diploma in 1955 from the studio of Józef Mroszczak. He has worked in applied art, poster, book and magazine design, industrial design, display design and has had exhibitions in London, Paris, Vienna, Rome and Delhi (1954) and won many awards.
The poster is in very good folded condition with a small piece out of the bottom right corner.
