Columbia 78 #38449 - Tony Pastor - "A" - You're Adorable" & "It's A Cruel World"

1925 was the year Columbia switched from the old method of acoustically recorded pressings to the new electric recording process licensed from Western Electric. This company has a long history, dating back to 1888, and was one of the "Big Three" in recording companies, competing with Edison and Victor. They remain the oldest continually used brand name in recorded sound, now owned by Sony Music since 1988.

This mid-1940's recording is in superb condition! Grading at almost near-mint. Only incidental wear. A 1-inch hairline may sound slightly on the A side but causes no skips in the play.

Side CO 40502 features the waltz tempo, "It's A Cruel, Cruel World", with a vocal chorus by Tony Pastor and the Clooney Sisters. Side CO 40504 plays the fox trot, "A - You're Adorable" (The Alphabet Song), with Tony and the Clooney Sisters in the vocal. Both melodies are performed by the legendary Tony Pastor and his Orchestra, and are OUTSTANDING 1940's Big Band sounds!
