Seller's Description
1925 was the year Columbia switched from the old method of acoustically recorded pressings to the new electric recording process licensed from Western Electric. This company has a long history, dating back to 1888, and was one of the "Big Three" in recording companies, competing with Edison and Victor. They remain the oldest continually used brand name in recorded sound, now owned by Sony Music since 1988.
Offered now is one of the records from the Hal Kemp Memorial Album. There is some minor record discoloration, but excellent sounding audio is to be enjoyed. Mostly clean with incidental scuff and scratch marks. Overall, a VG+ grading.
Side C 42-5 presents Cole Porter's, "I've Got You Under My Skin", from the 1936 musical, "Born To Dance".
Side C 42-6 offers "The Gentleman Obviously Doesn't Believe". Both fox trots are performed by the legendary orchestra of Hal Kemp, with vocals by Skinny Ennis.
