Columbia 78 #35705 - Eddy Duchin piano - "Easter Parade" & "Why Do I Love You"

1925 was the year Columbia switched from the old method of acoustically recorded pressings to the new electric recording process licensed from Western Electric. This company has a long history, dating back to 1888, and was one of the "Big Three" in recording companies, competing with Edison and Victor. They remain the oldest continually used brand name in recorded sound, now owned by Sony Music since 1988.

From the 1930's, this recording has been well preserved. In near-mint condition, showing some label wear and a few fingerprints. That's all. No cracks, chips, scratches, scuffs or skips.

Side LA 2305 features, "Why Do I Love You", and side LA 2306 lists the perennial favorite, "Easter Parade".

These piano solos are performed by Eddy Duchin, with rhythm accompaniment. Duchin played what later came to be called "sweet" music rather than jazz, but was famous for his engaging onstage personality and his elegant piano style.
