Original 1845 10 5/8 inch x 8 inch Engraving titled THE CHOOR MOUNTAINS
Choor Mountain is one of the highest peaks of the lower Himalayas.
Engraved by James Tingle (1790 - 1858)
From a drawing by Clarkson Stanfield (1793 - 1867). Panorama and scene painter, and marine and landscape artist in watercolour and oil, regular attendee of the Sketching Society, travelled in Britain and Europe. Many of his works were engraved and he occasionally made drawings on wood for engraving. Royal Academician.
After a drawing from nature by George Francis White (1808 - 1898). George Francis White was an accomplished amateur artist, and some of his drawings were worked up into finished watercolours by professional artists for publication in engraved form.
