Seller's Description
During the 17th century, men’s clothing was quite elaborate with frills, buckles and buttons.
Cast by me from fine quality bisque porcelain, this 17th century gentleman wears a long brown curly wig, typical of this era.
He is dressed in the style of the day for a wealthy man. He wears a coat of brown silk, decorated with bars of braid and tiny golden ‘buttons’. Underneath are black silk breeches tied at the side of each knee with silk ribbon bows. Fancy lace-trimmed shirt sleeves peep from under the black cuffed ¾ length jacket sleeves, as was the fashion of that time. At his neck is a bow of ivory silk and on one finger is a golden and black crystal ‘ring’.
His black squared toed shoes have Cuban heels and large golden buckles and he wears pale cream cotton stockings.
This doll stands approx six inches tall.
This doll has a porcelain head, torso, lower arms, and lower legs with a wired, soft and partially pose-able body.
This doll is an ornament intended for adult collectors and should not be given to children to play with.
