Seller's Description
The Lucas model L542 lamp was an original stop / tail lamp fitting on a few cars of the 1950s/60s, e.g. Hillman Minx, mid '50s. However, it was also used as a fitting on pre 1940 vehicles when the use of a single rear lamp became illegal. People would adapt all kinds of lamps - L484s were popular - on the wings of their cars which were often curved or angled. These two rubber wedges were not made by Lucas, I don't know the manufacturer, but were intended for use with an L542 (or other like profile) lamp. They give an approximate 20 degrees of angle.
If you have such lamps on similar but now perished rubber bases these will work but could also provide a kit car builder with a solution. The base measures 5 inches / 12.7cm top to bottom and 2 & 7/8 inches / 7.3cm side to side on the lamp adjoining surface.
