Seller's Description
1950s type bellows thermostat. Made by AC. Part No. TC1
I have listed this as "used" to err on the side of caution though I think it's actually a new, old stock item that has had a rather poor shelf life, i.e unboxed and in an outside building. It was stored along with other thermostats all of which were definitely new. Brass and copper parts are tarnished to varying degrees.
2 inch approx. housing diameter. I have tested that it opens / closes at near to 80 degrees. I do not possess finely calibrated water temperature measuring equipment.
AC's catalogues list the following applications: Commer Cob / Hillman Minx, Californian, Husky between 1952 & 62; Daimler 1954-59 Conquest, Century, Roadster, 104 DK400; Himber Hawk / Super Snipe 1955-63; Singer Gazelle 1957-61; Standard 8, 10, Pennant 1953-59; Sunbeam Rapier 1956-63 (up to and including Ser. IIIA); Vauxhall E, F and PA between 1955 & 62; also some tractors - please ask if unsure and please note that there were many vehicle manufacturers specifying this hotter thermostat for cars equipped with optional heaters - check your car's handbook.
Original bellows type thermostats are getting hard to find.
