Seller's Description
Original 1953 Russian 23 1/2 inch x 16 3/4 inch Poster for the 1947 Georg Jacoby Austrian Musical A WOMAN’S HEART (DAS HERZ EINER FRAU) starring Marianne Schonauer, Stefan Skodler, Kurti Baumgartner, Hella Ferstl and Walter Muller.
Georg Jacoby was born in Mainz, Germany in 1882, the son of comic playwright Wilhelm Jacoby. In 1923 he gave Marlene Dietrich her film debut, casting her in a small role in The Little Napoleon (1923). His involvement as co-writer and co-director on the big budget Italian epic Quo Vadis (1925), which was a critical and commercial disaster, damaged his reputation and he rebuilt his career by directing a series of popular comedies and musicals. He was married to Marika Rökk from 1940 until his death in 1964.
