Topaz Princess Square Cut: Brilliant Ice-White, Nice Cut; 6 x 6 mm; 1.57 cts

Colorless clear topaz with a lively cut, this piece would make a nice ring stone or center a pendant or other jewelry design. White topaz is often used as a substitute for diamonds. Although topaz lacks the level of diffraction (the ability to throw off flashes of other colors) found in diamonds, it still can put out a lot of sparkle. Very slight inclusions not noticeable without the aid of magnification. This well-cut example in the desirable "Princess" square cut does put out a lot of icy white flashes even in low light. An affordable, natural alternative to expensive diamond and its artificial imitators.
