Pietersite Cabochon Pear Drop; Blue and Gold Spangles; 17.75 cts; South Africa

Chatoyant veils of blue and gold iridescent shimmer along the swirling patterns in this gem as you turn it under the light. It would make a great pendant, or use it as the centerpiece in a statement ring or other jewel design. There are a few small undercut lines where a veil comes to the surface. The reverse side is also polished, though there are some soft areas that didn't shine up very well back there. The contrasting white swirls give the whole gem a scenic quality, and you may find yourself finding images within the patterns.
