Swindon Bus Garage 1977, Thamesdown AEC Reliance, Large Photo
Description: This is a Large 11"" inch x 8"" inch photo of a Thamesdown Transport bus scene at the old Manchester Road bus garage in Swindon in 1977. Clearly visible is a 1967 Austin A40 and a 1968 Leyland Leopard (JMW542F). The main bus in the photograph is a Thamesdown Transport, 1963 Willowbrook bodied AEC Reliance 2MU3RA, Registration plate AMR138B, fleet number 138, route number 2, destination board 'School Bus', and sporting the distinctive side mounted destination board and 'entry & exit' twin doors. The old Swindon bus station and garage was demolished in the 1980's, and nothing of the old era remains except for a row of terraced houses on Manchester Road.
