Original British 17 inch x 11 inch Trade Advertisement for the 1935 Henry Edwards Comedy THE PRIVATE SECRETARY, based on the play by Charles Henry Hawtrey, from the original play "Der Bibliotheker" by Van Moser and starring Edward Everett Horton, Alastair Sim, Oscar Asche, Judy Gunn, Sydney Fairbrother, Michael Shepley, Aubrey Dexter and O.B. Clarence.
A farcical hit play is a good showcase for a lot of 30s comedy talent, not least that of visiting American Horton as a mild reverend gentleman tricked by a ne’er-do-well (Mackay) who’s fleeing his creditors.
The Advertisement is in fine condition.
