This great personal cd player is a Philips ax2210...as expected it comes with all of the features to get the most from compact disc listening, Philips being the inventor of the format seem to produce players that operate and sound better than most others.

The lid carries the main transport controls and these are made up of play/pause, stop, next track/forward search, last track/reverse search. Alongside these are secondary function buttons, and these are a mode, programme and "DBB" (dynamic bass boost).
A centrally mounted LCD panel displays the current track number, elapsed time etc, as well as other status conditions.

The centre of the unit carries more buttons and sockets. These are a hold slid switch, this prevents the electronic controls from being accidentally operated. A 3.5 mm mini earphone jack is fitted and its output is adjusted by turning the rotary thumbwheel volume control that is conveniently fitted next to it. 
A centrally mounted slide switch releases the spring loaded catch that secures the sprung lid. The right central portion of the casing carries the units 4.5 volt DC power input jack.

The player is operated by using 2 X AA Batteries (not supplied). Alternatively a 4.5 Volt DC power supply (not supplied) can be connected to the DC power input jack.

The audio quality produced by this Cd player is excellent. Theres a great frequency response and nothing sounds as if its been left out, bass is full and fast, the mid band is open airy and the high frequencies are clean and extended. The stereo image is wide as it is deep and all instruments can be clearly heard to be in their own space. This player never sounds harsh or brash.

The supplied photos clearly show that the player is in excellent condition, it shows little signs of previous use, and all controls and buttons/switches operate faultlessly, they are smooth and positive in action. The transport operates quietly and smoothly, tracking is excellent, track access times are very rapid.The shockproof circuit isolates the player from the effects of movement well .
This player will replay CDR Discs that are quality brand named types burnt at speeds of 8X and lower on a reliable Cd Drive. in common with all other Cd Players this one will not reliably replay CD discs that are dirty/damaged.
