Code 1302. - Kirchner 14, 278.
The leaflet includes news about the heavy bombing of Rostock by the RAF for four consecutive days. The bombing of Rostock (and Lübeck a month earlier) triggered the so-called ‘Baedeker Blitz’ on the German side. As valuable architectural monuments were destroyed, Hitler ordered the historic English cities of Bath, Canterbury, Exeter, and others to be bombed (see Buchbender/Schuh, Die Waffe, die auf die Seele zielt, p. 134).
Authenticated by Klaus Kirchner, with his verification hand stamp on the verso, slight creasing to right margin and lower left corner, one short closed tear, a rare leaflet in very good condition.
