Additional descriptive notes (if applicable): the stamp depicts Erzsébet Szilagyi (after 1490-1532), a heroine in the fight against the Turks.

Postage stamps can be found with the multiple Patriarch's cross within a shield watermark in two different positions. Hungarian specialist catalogues identify the two positions as watermark X A1 and A2. However, in order to identify the watermark position the stamp must display certain portions of the watermark design and thus it is not always possibe to confirm it. The watermark of the item in this sale is X, but it cannot be said whether it is A1 or A2.

As well as being surcharged, a protective colour overprint was applied to the stamps giving them the appearance of being printed on yellow tinted paper.

1) Listing of used postage stamps: multiple copies: as my fine used material is of comparable quality, where I have more than one copy of a particular stamp for sale I list one generic sale for used singles and sets of postage stamps, showing one representative image of that particular item, but indicating how many copies/sets are for sale.

2) Shipping charges for multiple purchases: in addition to postage my shipping charges include a handling and packing charge. My basic charges for this item are shown on the sales page. However, postage, processing and packing charges for multiple purchases will be combined and will be based upon the actual cost of despatching a package containing all the items bought.
