Additional descriptive notes (if applicable): following the issue of Mi 224-6 in 1925-6, the engravings were repeatedly improved, or re-engraved, resulting in these new versions:

There are two types of moustache:

Normal, Mi. 236 and 238-240.

Re-touched, shorter at the left, Mi 237 and 241.

The various versions of the successors to Mi 224-6 are:

Type I.  Mi. 224-7 (7^th March 1925): Large-format (Wz. 1 X = 19.2 x 23 mm., Wz. 1 Y = 19.8 x 22.4 mm).  Figures of value and inscription ‘KORUNA’ on a lined ground in Antiqua lettering with shadow.  Shirt collar thinly lined, right shoulder next to coat collar cross-hatched.

Type II.  Mi. 228-230 (1925): Smaller format 18.75 x 21.25 mm.  Figures of value and inscription ‘KORUNA’ on a lined ground in Antiqua lettering with shadow. Shirt collar thinly lined, right shoulder next to coat collar cross-hatched.  The letters V and A of ‘ČESKOSLOVENSKO’ shaded inside with horizontal strokes.  Mi 229 (2 Kr): Shirt collar thickly lined, right shoulder next to coat collar cross-hatched.

Type III.  Mi. 231 (1925): Image and size as Mi 228, but right shoulder next to coat collar shoulder engraved with lines (no cross-hatching), outside the V and A without horizontal strokes inside.  The letters V and A of ‘ČESKOSLOVENSKO’ without shading inside.  Mi. 232: As Mi. 231, but produced using the Stickney printing process (line perforated 9.75 rather than 13.75).

Type IV: Mi. 233 (1926). Like Mi. 230, but figures of value and inscription ‘KORUNA’ on a cross-hatched background without shadows.  The word POSTA is shorter (6 mm rather than 8 mm.).

Type V.  Mi. 234 (1926): Figures of value and inscription ‘KORUNA’ on a cross-hatched background without shadows.  The word POSTA is shorter (6 mm rather than 8 mm.).  There is a very thin line between the value tablets, marking the border of the bottom of the portrait.  The moustache at the left is longer and wavy.

Type VI. Mi. 235-7 (1926-7): like Mi. 234, with only a slightly modified plate.  There is a very much thicker line between the value tablets, marking the border of the bottom of the portrait.  Mi 236-7:  These are the only two values which were issued on unwatermarked paper.  Mi 237: the moustache has been re-touched and is shorter at the left.

The watermark on this postage stamp can be found in four horizontal positions  The watermark on this copy is position Y 7 as described in the Michel catalogue (as viewed from the back of the stamp).

1) Listing of used postage stamps: multiple copies: as my fine used material is of comparable quality, where I have more than one copy of a particular stamp for sale I list one generic sale for used singles and sets of postage stamps, showing one representative image of that particular item, but indicating how many copies/sets are for sale.
