Classic X-Men #21 – “Visions of Death!” & “First Love”

This issue features two stories:

1. “Visions of Death!”
   A reprint of Uncanny X-Men #115, originally crafted by Chris Claremont and John Byrne. The narrative follows the X-Men as they confront Sauron, who has left Storm unconscious. Wolverine attacks Sauron but falls under his hypnotic powers, leading him to perceive his teammates as demons and attack them. Cyclops intervenes, knocking Wolverine out with an optic blast, allowing the team to focus on stopping Sauron.

2. “First Love”
   An original backup story written by Chris Claremont with art by John Bolton. Set in the Savage Land, Colossus (Piotr Rasputin) struggles with the heat and his inability to draw. He hallucinates seeing his sister Illyana and friend Anya, only to realize they are local tribal girls. When a Tyrannosaurus rex attacks, Colossus, unable to armor up, bravely confronts the beast to protect the girls. After the incident, he forms a romantic connection with one of the girls, Nereel, highlighting themes of love and loss.

This comic has been visually inspected and graded based on over 30 years of collecting experience. I use standard UK grading terminology:

NM / Near Mint – virtually perfect

VF / Very Fine – light wear only

FN / Fine – general wear, still clean and complete

VG / Very Good – moderate wear, minor defects

G / Good – heavy wear or age, complete unless noted
