International Garden Festival Bus 1984, Liverpool, Large Photo
Description: This is a large 11"" inch x 8"" inch photo of a period scene at at the Liverpool International Garden Festival bus stop outside the Fulwood car park entrance to the festival in 1984. A 'Festival Bus' waits for passengers at the Festival bus stop, and to the right can be seen the banner for the 'Fulwood Car Park Entrance' with part of the festival logo being visible.
The bus is a Merseyside, 1984 Alexander bodied Leyland Atlantean AN68D, fleet number 1028, registration plate A108HLV, route 402, and destination board 'Merseyside', with the 'Festival Bus' sign being clearly visible inside the windscreen. The bus was new to Merseyside that year and is adorned with a banner advertisement 'Fly Liverpool Your Local International Airport'.
The international Garden Festival ran from 2nd May to 14th October in 1984 and was held on a derelict industrial site south of Herculaneum Dock, near the Dingle and overlooking the River Mersey. This photograph was taken at one of the car parks feeding the festival, the Fulwood car park.
