Description: This is a Large 11"" inch x 8"" inch photo of a period street scene in Leicester city centre in 1974. A Leicester City 1971 MCW bodied Metro-Scania bus, registration plate WBC143J, fleet number 143, route 34, destination 'Goodwood' is leading heavy traffic across Charles Street whilst it continues down Humberstone Gate, past the old Mann's department store building, which at the time was being used as the Rubicon Sporting Club.
This area is very much the same today apart from some slight traffic calming pedestrianisation, and 'Greens' Television, Radio and Electrical Centre on the opposite side of the road is now a clothes shop.
