Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1962 Basil Dearden Drama LIFE FOR RUTH, based on the play and with a screenplay by Janet Green and starring Michael Craig, Patrick McGoohan, Janet Munro, Paul Rogers, Megs Jenkins, Frank Finlay, Michael Bryant, Norman Wooland, Walter Hudd, Michael Aldridge, Basil Dignam, Kenneth J. Warren and Brian Wilde.

Craig is the father who refuses to allow his dying daughter to undergo a blood transfusion because of his fundamentalist religious convictions in this moving account of a clash between belief and medical practice.

Poster art by Jean Mascii. Mascii was one of the most prolific French film poster artists of the second half of the 20th century creating over 2,000. He was born in Italy in 1926 his family then settled in France in 1932. He began work designing cinema facades and designed his first film poster for La Dame D'Onze Heures starring Paul Meurisse in 1947. He died in Paris in 2003.

The poster is in very good folded condition. There is a tiny "5/62 Depot legal 62/2" with "27331" at the foot of the poster. This means that this poster is from the first release in 1962, and that this is the second time the poster was printed.
