Kilmarnock old A1 Bus Station 1970, Large Photo
Description: This is a Large 12" inch x 8" inch photo of the old A1 Service Bus Station in Kilmarnock in 1970. A 1966 A1 Service liveried Daimler Atlantean bus, Registration EAG981D, Destination 'Ardrossan via Beggs Terrace' is parked in the station alongside an old A1 Service AEC.
The bus station is no longer there, and for context, the photographer was stood at the gates of the Laigh Kirk Church in John Dickie Street near the junction of Bank Street. The rounded building and hedge wall (opposite Laigh Kirk Gates) now stands roughly where the Daimler bus is parked in the photo.
