This is a JVC XL-PG3 personal CD Player. Theres pleny of features to get the best from CD Discs. A clear front LCD panel shows track status such as elapsed time etc. The main controls are set to either side of this. To the right are the secondary ones such as repeat,program and the catch release button to allow the spring loaded lid to open.

To the centre of the casing theres a rotary thumbwheel volume control that adjusts the output from the standard 3.5 mm mini phones jack. A two way slide switch turns the "HBS" Hyper Bass system either on or off, "HBS" is a bass enhancement system that adds a degree of authority to the low frequency content of the audio signal. Another two way slide switch sets the resume feature to either on or off, this when set to on will allow the last stop point of a CD Disc to be reaccessed once the play button is pressed. A hold switch is found next to this, and setting to its on position will prevent the players electronic controls being accidentally activated. JVC's "TSP" feature switch ofers either on or off settings. This assists the transdport to track a CD Disc when the player is moved, when the player is used in a static position it is recommended that the feature is turned off so as to allow Battery life to be extended. Lastly, ther rear of the player is fitted with a fixed level line output in the guise of a stereo mini 3.5 mm jack. This allows the player to be connected to an Amplfier for example (cable not supplied) where the player can easily form part of a Hi Fi system.

The player operates by using 2 X AA Batteries (not supplied). Alternatively a 4.5 Volt DC power supply can be connected to the units 4.5 Volt DC power input jack.

The player sounds superb, theres lots of detail and space in the sound and it will replay cdr discs. It was tested using a quality blank burnt at 8 X speed with an 80 minute duration. The player replayed the disc perfectly showing rapid track access times and disc start up. In common with any other Cd player in existence this one will not replay dirty/damaged CD discs....CDR Discs burnt at speeds higher than 8x may not replay reliably, any CDR discs used should be quality brand name types and burnt in a quality drive at speeds of 8X and lower. The electronic shock system fitted is very effective but will operate reliably if the player is subjected to abuse.

Take a look at the photos to see that the player is in excellent condition showing only very slight signs of prior use. All functions and controls operate perfectly and the unit is free of defects having been thoroughly tested.
