All items offered are genuine release (usually 1st), old, cinema movie items and so had a 'life' before sale, so unlikely ever to be mint.

This item: PRIME COLLECTABLE Peter was noted for his interest in and ability in painting and drawing. Offered here is a unique Cushing item incorporating 3 pieces 2 of which are original pieces of artwork depicting Boris Karloff's Frankenstein monster - Cushing who played Frankenstein for Hammer painting Universal's Frankenstein monster - an amazing association item! There are 3 paintings in all, which were initially stapled together by Peter with a great cowboy painting, below which Peter has written: 'From Cowboy Hero to Frankenstein's Monster?' When Peter was young he had a strong interest in the likes of Tom Mix, who was a famous cowboy actor in earlier days and Billy Bunter the schoolboy creation of Frank Richards (his personally owned Bunter Annual is also up for sale on this site) - these were simple pleasures / interests of the young Cushing, who as we all know (and love the fact) was to become famous as Dr Frankenstein - perhaps his written words under the cowboy image is a wistful reflection on his young days. The staple was removed some years back when these images were used for publication. So 3 pieces in all offered here and each has been initialled by Peter in pencil to the bottom right corner. This item was originally sold at 'The Canterbury Auction Galleries' under the heading The Peter Cushing Collection on Tuesday 30th July, 1996. The original ticket is also included in the sale. A great item for the collector.  Rare / Unique

Condition: (Range from Fine – Very Good – Good – Poor with ++ to - - for further differentiation) :  Fine - / Very Good ++   -:  very good corners and edges with minimal wear; painted on thicker art paper; overall a very good and unique collectable.
