• Size: 20.7cm tall x 10.3cm wide x 1.5mm thick when folded or 61cm wide x 41 cm tall when unfolded
• Weight: 26g
• Era: Sometime from 1979 and 1989
• Pages: 2 sides and folds into 2 then 6.
• Condition: used but in good overall condition for its age and only one mark inside (writing 2.1 mile route above the word Shopping, on the map side), though a faint trace of browning on the edges and one small hole between folds. See image for overall condition.
• General Comments: Debenhams is a British Department store that  started off in London in 1778 and has gradually acquired other department stores across the UK. Unfortunately, like many other high street retailers, it has done poorly financially following the increasing use of Internet shopping and has alas gone into administration. This map, produced either in the late 1970’s or 1980’s (there is no date) shows a nice coloured map of the centre of London – designed and drawn by the Cartographic Department of Cook, Hammond and Kell Ltd. This includes street names, rail and underground lines and stations. Indices are provided of Places of Interest, Places of Entertainment, Air, Coach and Rail Terminals, and London Transport Centres. You can find a location by the appropriate letter and number grid square map reference. On the reverse of the map is a London Underground map, list of credit cards accepted in stores, places in the UK where you can find a Debenhams, and clothing/shoe size comparisons between British, European and American sizes. Most of the reverse side is taken up with illustrations of the types of items they sold in the department store. Apart from providing a nice map of inner Lindon, this map would also be useful for any collectors or historians of Debenhams or department stores in general. Note that this map is probably quite rare on account of the fact that when I Googled it I could not find any mention or images!
