TUPELO TAG ALONGS

Bring your “tag alongs” where ever you go. Fill these cute pouches with all the essentials. Finger hold handles on either side - leave your hands free to shop! Optional inside pockets: Small pouch has 4 credit or business card pockets and medium pouch has two zippered pockets

Materials
FABRIC Hoffman CA Fabrics’ Pops™ are wonderful for this project. Or for pouches without pockets use ½ for the body and ¼ yard for the trim.
BATTING Use light to medium weight batting. Try Bosal’s Katahdin batting pre-cut in rolls 2½” x 25 yards (enough for 20 strips of fabric). If using leftover batting, select leftovers that are similar in weight. Cut strips 2 ½” wide.
Fabric
Body (2½” x 42/44” strips): SM 4; MD 6
Binding (2½” x 42/44” strip): SM 1; MD 1
Zipper cover (2¾” x 42/44” strip): SM 1; MD 1
Cotton Batting (2½” x 44”strips): SM 4; MD 6
Polyester Zipper: Sm one 14”; MD one 18”
Zippers can be longer. Trimming instructions are included.

FOR OPTIONAL POCKETS:
Fabric (full width of fabric): SM ¼ yard; MD ½ yard
Fusible Interfacing (44” wide): ¼ yard; ¼ yard
Use Dura-Fuse by Bosal or Decor Bond by Pellon
Polyester Zippers: SM NA; MD two 9” or larger

MATCHING COTTON OR POLYESTER THREAD:
Use a 50 weight thread like Superior “So Fine” (a fine but strong polyester thread). Also, use a heavy cotton thread to sew the sides (use 12 weight Aurifil cotton, pen cotton or upholstery thread).

EMBELLISHMENTS:
Four 1” buttons or more for a layered look One zipper pull

Other Tools:
Sewing machine with a good zigzag stitch, machine needles: Janome’s Purple Tip OR Microtex 90/14 AND Denim 110/18. Clover Chaco-liner wheel marker. Scissors (both large and small), rotary mat, acrylic rulers, 60mm rotary cutter, pins, seam ripper.
