Salvatoe Fiume was born in Comiso, Sicily in 1915and has been living in canzo (Como) since 1936. In 1949 he presents an exhibition in which a highl researched form of painting was introduced with a degree of dedication that brings to mind the figure of Morandi. During the same period, the crtics attention is drawn to a famous collection of his works, "Isole di Statue", and the Venetian Biennial records its creation by hosting a great triptych of the Maestro's paintings. Many of his works are part of public and private collections in Europe, the United Staes, the East. Thirty-three of his works have been in the Vatican Museum of Modern Art since 1978.
