I've been selling at eBay under this username for 10 years, but eBay's finally reached the point of ridiculousness. The constant nickel and dime fees were bad enough, but at least it still worked in my advantage when I was selling a high dollar item. But the new mandatory maximum shipping fees - that was the straw that broke the camel's back. Sure, some people charged too much for shipping and needed to be stopped. But the new rates aren't taking into consideration the cost of the packing materials along with the postage, so sellers either have to raise the starting price or send everything by media mail to compensate.

Anyway. Enough about the Other place. I've spent some time looking this site over and I really like what I see. Sensibly listed categories, a FLAT fee for sellers, a minimum of nonsense and clearly accessible and NOT hidden policies... I'll be sticking around for sure.
Well said..and welcome to ebid...may you have many happy sales....

If you close before the price goes up, all your SIF items will end. I *think*, but haven't checked, that they will go into your unsold list, so the info' would still be available. Any Auction or BINs will continue as they are, until their normal end time. But I'd be inclined to download everything to TL first, just in case, if you don't keep your own copies!

I don't use TL since they changed it over to the new one I just write it out in word and copy and paste into auctiva, so chances are I may lose them when I close.

Do you not use selling manager (not pro) either? So not get an unsold list or something? Because I really can't see why they wouldn't get put in there and held. But you could always ask in Q&A.

when I closed my shop it wouldn't allow me to close my account fully until I had unsubcribed from every single seperate application , i.e selling manager pro, sales report etc
I still have access to my old ebay account, but I did copy and paste all the listings I wanted to take over to here, although some did not transfer very well ,so alot I started new listings with.
I even had access to the powersellers board still for a while till they realised, lol and it stopped

I don't - or have ever used - selling manager or pro as I am only a hobby seller, small seller or whatever I am called, selling my own stuff ie books I have a big collection, I hate parting with a book but can only hold on to so many, as a retiree I just wanted to stop myself from going braindead by doing nothing at all.

Hmmm... nothing to stop you subscribing to selling manager (it's free) before you close your shop, so the listing information has somewhere to go.

Yes, welcome, supervendor. May you do well here.

As to the stores and subscriptions on eBoy: i closed my store in May after ending all its listings manually. I didn't know about the subscriptions trap until a few days ago, but i wonder if it's set up differently for U.K. stores than U.S. ones. A couple days ago I checked to see what subscriptions I have and none were shown. Also I looked to see what were available and all SEEMED to say "check here to subscribe", as if I'm not subscribed. I certainly hope that is the case. I will keep a sharp eye on my PP balance.

I'm hoping that closing down a store automatically ends subscriptions. That would be reasonable, but I will not count on it happening.
